US Pulls B-1 Bombers From UK Base Over Iran Threat

“They didn't fly out by accident… there was a threat.”

Washington pulled about a dozen B-1 bombers from RAF Fairford in England over the weekend after intelligence pointed to an Iran-linked threat against the base. The move followed the September 27 arrest of five British men near the base over a suspected terror plot — with a seventh arrest in London on Tuesday — and the UK prime minister cited ‘strong indications’ of Iranian involvement, which Tehran denies. President Trump confirmed the bombers ‘didn't fly out by accident,’ contradicting Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who had called it a ‘regular rotation.’ Vice President JD Vance said it was done ‘out of an abundance of caution.’ Fairford is the only European airfield for US heavy bombers and was used in this year's strikes on Iran.
